You want success in your business in 2018? Set up your marketing budget monthly so it works the whole year through

12 Months of Marketing Planning for 2018

As 2017 draws to a close this is a time to look backward and forward in your business. You look back at the year that has just passed and evaluate your company’s performance. What events did you plan for? Which ones took you by surprise? Did you do better than you projected coming into the year, or worse?

Just as importantly, your projections and plans for 2018 should already be well under way. One of the most important aspects of your business plan for next year should be your Marketing Plan. Particularly if the budget you are allocating for marketing is limited.

Why? Because an unfocused marketing plan can cost your company a fortune as you spend money in areas that are not giving the return on investment needed while not allocating enough funds in areas that would yield higher results.

Have you gotten as far as deciding on your budget? If yes, great. If not, that is ok – but you certainly want to have at least a general idea working toward a realistic amount that you are ready to move forward with by the beginning of the year. The most important aspect of deciding on your budget is: be realistic, but do not be too tight. You may have grand marketing plans for the new year, but if you don’t have the budget set correctly, you will run out of money for marketing long before 2018 ends… and most likely with an inadequate return on investment (ROI).

Therefore, your marketing “Game Plan” should include monthly budgets that make up the larger yearly budget. In this way you can budget for a variety of different marketing efforts that may include: a new or updated/upgraded website; a direct mail campaign; a vehicle wrap for your vehicle, or your entire fleet; new or updated branding; advertising in focused areas, either through more traditional outlets (magazines, newspapers or banners) or on the internet through social media advertising or banner ads.

If you budget correctly you will even have enough left for some memorable promotional gifts for your valued clients, future clients, vendors and/or employees when the 2018 holiday season rolls around next year.

One last thing: you must always remember to “Measure Your Results” of every campaign. Also known as Metrics, these measurements are another area where many companies, particularly small companies where the owner and management wear multiple hats, tend to forget. Not measuring a marketing campaign’s results can cost you money and results.

In fact, that is such a big mistake that the very future of your company may depend on the accuracy of your measuring the results of each and every one of your marketing campaigns. Why? Because running marketing campaigns that do not produce enough ROI can doom a company to a financial setback that it can never recover from.

Creating and implementing integrated successful marketing campaigns throughout 2018 and beyond can be the life blood of your business. In the modern world, there are countless platforms for advertising and communicating with potential clients. A well-orchestrated campaign will not only reach a large audience, but it will also help increase brand recognition and drive people to your company. The New Year offers a perfect opportunity to get started with a bang by putting an effective, multi-faceted marketing campaign to work for your business.

At Print it Plus we love to help you convert your ideas into a cohesive, integrated marketing plan. We work with you not just at the beginning of the year, but for the entire year through to the end.  We help to build the brand of your company through a variety of print, mail, direct mail, vehicle wraps, advertising, marketing campaigns and superior website design.

The beginning of December is here, and that means we are right in the middle of the annual holiday season. If you live in the Wellington, Florida area that also means it must be time for another festive annual event: the annual Wellington Holiday Parade!

Once again, the Village of Wellington and the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce are excited to co-host the 34th annual Wellington Holiday Parade this coming Sunday, December 10th, 2017. The theme of this year’s parade is “A World of Make Believe”. Over 25,000 people are expected to view the parade, which includes many notables including Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw. There will also be a special parade guest, pitcher Brad Peacock from the 2017 World Series Champion Houston Astros.

David and Kim Leland, co-owners of Print It Plus, a locally-owned and operated print, advertising and marketing company for the last 3 decades were excited to once again help in the planning and coordination of this year’s parade. In an interesting twist, daughter Kayla and son-in-law Chris Pragid will be taking the mantle of co-head Facilitators of the parade this year, keeping that important job in the family. This year it will be Chris and Kayla who will be helping the parade chairman to coordinate the over 2,500 participants, getting them lined up and released in proper order and time from 5 different staging areas. In addition Kayla will take on Kim’s usual role of overseeing that other parade participant needs get met, including making sure there is ample water for everyone involved.

The festivities start in Holiday Park at the Wellington Ampitheater from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be food, music and Arts & Crafts. The parade itself starts at 1:30 p.m. The parade includes local area marching bands, decorative floats, dancing groups and much more!

For those of you who live on and around the parade route in Wellington, please note that Forest Hill Blvd. and a number of the surrounding roads will be closed at 1:00 p.m. to ensure the safety of those pedestrians who will be walking in and around the parade route.

For more information on this year’s parade visit cpbchamber.com or call (561) 790-6200 today. We look forward to seeing many of you out there having a great time celebrating A World of Make Believe and cheering on your favorite parade participants. We wish you a Happy and safe holiday season!
